It’s been a busy three day weekend! A trip to Waco, Texas and two full days of cleaning my apartment. There is nothing like the feeling you get after tackling your entire home. All that cleaning inspired me to share some of my personal organization tips that help me get things done. I find that you can apply these to many different categories so don’t feel like you’re limited. The ultimate goal is to boost your productivity and get you going!
Set A Plan // Being productive is so much easier when you know what you need to get done. I like to set my tasks by day and time. This way, I know exactly what I need to do and when I need to do it.
Write It Down // For me I find it better to write things down on my iPhone or iPad because it’s easier for me to access throughout the day. However, this year I bought a planner to help me get more organized and not depend so much on electronics. You can plan ahead and know that everything you need is in one single place. Plus I love all the cute stickers on Etsy!! They’re so hard to resist.
Time Yourself // Sometimes we don’t have enough time to do it all but if you set aside an hour to thirty minutes of uninterrupted time, you’d be surprised how much you can get done. Or say you do have plenty of time, it’s always better to set a specific time to do those things. For example: 10:30-11:40 write blog post, 11:30 am – 12:00 pm wash dishes, 12:30-1:30 break for lunch, and so forth. This helps you stay on track and keeps you from spending too much time on one thing.
Reward Yourself // This may sound silly but when I don’t feel like doing something or can’t find the motivation to push through the task I like to reward myself after accomplishing it. They’re small rewards like grabbing a coffee from Starbucks or watching my favorite show on Netflix. It gives me something to look forward to and gets me excited to finishing the task.
